Metal Finishing Services

Industrial Finishes Based on Your Technical Specifications

Barga Group provides metal finishing services designed to improve the corrosion resistance, durability and service life of industrial metal components.

We work directly from customer-supplied technical specifications to apply the most appropriate surface finishing process for each project, including hot-dip galvanizing, shot blasting and industrial coatings.

As part of our integrated manufacturing capabilities, metal finishing can be combined with precision cutting, metal forming, welding, assembly and kitting. This allows our customers to work with a single manufacturing partner from the initial engineering drawing to the finished component with the required surface protection and finish.

Capabilities

Metal Surface Finishing Capabilities

Every project requires a different surface finishing solution.

Based on the material, operating environment, durability requirements and customer specifications, we select the most appropriate finishing process to achieve the required level of protection, surface condition and service life.

Hot-Dip Galvanizing

Shot Blasting

Industrial Coatings

Hot-Dip Galvanizing

Hot-dip galvanizing is particularly well suited to steel components that require durable corrosion protection in outdoor, industrial and marine environments.

The process applies a zinc coating by immersing fabricated steel components in molten zinc, creating a metallurgically bonded protective coating that helps protect the underlying steel against corrosion.

Advantages

  • Long-term corrosion protection
  • Complete coating coverage, including complex geometries and internal surfaces where accessible
  • High durability in outdoor and industrial environments
  • Low maintenance requirements
  • Extended component service life

Typical Applications

  • Outdoor steel structures
  • Wind energy components
  • Structural construction components
  • Components for marine and offshore environments
  • Industrial frames and supports

Shot Blasting

Shot blasting is an abrasive surface preparation process used to remove rust, mill scale, previous coatings and other surface contaminants from metal components.

By propelling abrasive media against the metal surface at high velocity, the process creates a clean and consistent surface profile suitable for subsequent coating or painting operations when required by the project specification.

Advantages

  • Removes rust, mill scale and surface contaminants
  • Prepares surfaces for subsequent coating systems
  • Improves coating adhesion
  • Creates a consistent surface profile
  • Controlled and repeatable process

Typical Application

  • Surface preparation before industrial coatings
  • Removal of rust and mill scale
  • Structural components
  • Steel structures for outdoor and industrial environments
  • Wind energy and offshore components

Industrial Coatings

Industrial coating systems provide protective finishes tailored to the operating environment and technical requirements of each component.

Depending on the project specification, coating systems may include primers, intermediate coats and topcoats selected to provide the required level of corrosion protection, durability, color and visual identification.

Advantages

  • Coating systems tailored to project requirements
  • Corrosion protection based on operating environment
  • Uniform and durable finishes
  • Compatible with color and identification requirements
  • Solutions available for different metal substrates

Typical Applications

  • Wind energy and offshore components
  • Industrial structures and equipment
  • Components exposed to specific corrosive environments
  • Structural fabrications
  • Industrial machinery and equipment

Materials

Materials We Finish

We work with the metals most commonly used in industrial manufacturing, engineering and metal fabrication projects. Available finishing processes depend on the material and technical requirements of each application.

  • Carbon Steel One of the most widely used materials in industrial manufacturing due to its strength, versatility and broad range of applications.
  • Stainless Steel Suitable for applications requiring corrosion resistance, durability and reliable performance in demanding industrial environments.
  • Aluminium A lightweight and versatile material with high corrosion resistance, particularly suitable for applications where reducing component weight is important.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Metal Finishing

What metal finishing services does Barga Group offer?

Our surface finishing capabilities include hot-dip galvanizing, shot blasting and industrial coatings for industrial metal components. The appropriate process is selected according to the material, operating environment and technical requirements of each project.

What is the difference between hot-dip galvanizing and industrial coatings?

Hot-dip galvanizing applies a zinc coating to steel through immersion in molten zinc, providing durable corrosion protection. Industrial coatings use specified paint and coating systems that can be tailored to environmental exposure, finish, color and identification requirements. Depending on the technical specification, different corrosion protection systems may also be combined.

What is shot blasting used for?

Shot blasting is used to remove rust, mill scale, previous coatings and other contaminants from metal surfaces. It also creates a controlled surface profile that helps prepare the component for subsequent industrial coating applications.

What materials can you finish?

We primarily work with carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum. The available finishing process, coating system and surface preparation requirements depend on the material and technical specifications of each project.

Can you apply metal finishing after welding or forming?

Yes. Metal finishing is part of our integrated manufacturing capabilities. Depending on the project, we can manage precision cutting, metal forming and welding before applying the required finishing process, followed by assembly and kitting where necessary.

Do you supply finished components internationally?

Yes. Barga Group supplies finished industrial components to international customers through its manufacturing facilities in Spain and India.
